SMALTOCHIMICA RECONVERTS PART OF THE PRODUCTION LINE

Smaltochimica starts the production of sanitizing gel

Smaltochimica donates masks and sanitizing gels to the hospitals of Bergamo and Sassuolo. The Fiorano Modenese company, which has been active for almost 50 years in the production of chemical additives for the ceramic industry, has reconverted part of its lines to create sanitizing gels useful for dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Faced with the frequent lack of these alcohol-based products, which are now more than ever essential for proper sanitation of hospitals, homes and workplaces, Smaltochimica has decided to make its chemical know-how available to the local area and the community, in a perspective that is not purely economic, but one of civil and social responsibility.

The first production batch of sanitizing gels is scheduled for mid-April and will be donated to the AUSL of Bergamo, the city most affected by the pandemic in Italy, and of Sassuolo, to which the company has already delivered 2,300 masks free of charge in recent days taken from their own stocks.

Smaltochimica has been active since 1977 in the production and marketing of chemical products for the ceramic industry and other sectors.

Equipped with the CPI certifications (no. 40354 MO) not in derogation and ISO14001:2015, it has the skills and equipment essential for the processing of flammable products and will soon be able to produce alcohol-based sanitizers continuously and in compliance with the regulations, such as requested by government authorities.
